I opened my door  to go surfing to be greeted by an arresting vision, an Asian carrying a heavy massage table tucked under his arm like it was a feather, with a body looking more like Rambo than a healer.

An air of energy and enthusiasm surrounding him, a cheeky look but an intensity in his eyes that felt like he could cut through the biggest pile of 'bullshit' with a single glance. We started chatting. He introduced himself as "Longy". 

I asked if he did 'take away massage.' He didn’t, he was simply treating a famous Rugby player in the apartment above whose team he was looking after. I'd only recently returned from China meeting Masters of Healing and Masters of Martial Arts, I was soon to discover that the best of both world's was here on my doorstep.

We had an immediate connection, I soon discovered he had a wicked sense of humor.

Of course, I asked if I could have a treatment! 

Longy's fingers quickly found the pressure points...and boy, did he apply pressure, and after a deep massage that had me whimpering as he broke up any tightness in muscles he folded me into shapes I thought would leave me looking like a pretzel, always explaining very clearly what he was doing and why. It not only  left me feeling totally rejuvinated but amazed at his level of mastery, he was very obviously not just a masseur but some one with very special skills, deep knowledge and even powers. And he still hadn't revealed his mastery of the martial arts.

We became good friends, I introduced him to my girlfriend who had be very unwell and in no time she too was feeling great and just as impressed as I had been with his treatment, knowledge, humor and actual caring nature.

We offered to turn an unused room in her house into a simple studio so clients could come to him rather than traveling to them.I found a sponsorship of quality automated electronic massage table which we quickly installed. A major sports writer started giving glowing reports of the amazing results he had in getting injured elite sportspeople back 'on the field', jockeys back in the saddle and major athletes back on the track, and the number of clients  just kept increasing.

Soon, a steady procession of high level athletes, high powered business men, models and international movie stars and were lining up for sessions as his reputation spread like wild fire  Many of the clients I only read about or seen in films and television.

 

As we spent more time together his life story kept unfolding, sounding more and more like an action packed / personal development  block buster movie.
