Could he stay in my apartment for a few days?

Sogyal Rinpoche, author of many books including

'The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying', had come to Australia to conduct a retreat.

I was asked if it was possible if he, after completing the retreat, could have a little private retreat of his own overlooking the beach in my apartment.

It was impossible to say no!

I moved out for a few days and Rinpoche moved in.

When he moved out I was left with a 'lingering presence' and a large bowl of fruit he left for me and turning the apartment into a cave I sat immersed in relative silence for a few days 'enjoying the fruits'.

I was also blessed with having a private meeting with him and he showered me with gratitude for sharing my space including two beautiful art prints, and copies of several of his books.

I guess i had the right place at the right time.
